Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Hollis Thomas claims that the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies shared a so-called “Blue Chest of Pornography” when they were both tenants of Veterans Stadium.

During a Thursday morning segment on his 94WIP radio show, Thomas revealed that a Veterans Stadium restroom area shared by the Eagles and Phillies contained a “Blue Chest” full of pornographic magazines. The 39-year-old said he first learned about the stash in 1996, his rookie season with the Eagles.

“[The Phillies] did have an awesome… we used to share like the shower and rest room area at the Vet, and they had an awesome collection of porn. They did, it was just like a bunch of books in there,” Thomas said on 94WIP, according to CBS Philadelphia. “It was just in a chest. When I first got there I was like, ‘What is this?’ They was like, ‘This is reading material’. I was like, ‘Reading material?’”

According to Thomas, the denizens of Veterans Stadium were well aware of the Blue Chest Of Pornography. “Everybody knows about the blue chest,” he told 94WIP. “It was an array, a pretty good array of magazines. You actually had a variety too. It was almost like a newsstand, put it that way. Actually, yeah, it was the precursor to the Internet. You just picked up one, and there was a little sign that said when you’re done with the book, put it back. I did get a couple of books where the pages were stuck together.”

This isn’t the first time that one of Thomas’ public revelations caused a stir in the media. Thomas said last February that former Eagles star Nnamdi Asomugha used to eat lunch in his car rather than with his teammates.

Thomas joined the Eagles in 1996 as an undrafted rookie free agent. He played in the NFL until 2009, and he currently co-hosts a radio show on 94WIP.
