Light Saber
A YouTube user created a "light saber" by building a handheld 450 nanometer laser YouTube

Most “Star Wars” fans could only dream about a lightsaber ever coming to fruition. But this YouTube user thought otherwise and took a step in that direction by building a powerful three-watt handheld laser. While not quite at the level of something that Obi-Wan Kenobi, Darth Vader, or Luke Skywalker would hold, the laser still packs quite a punch with its 9mm, 450 nanometer laser beam diode. The video on YouTube posted by Styropyro demonstrates this as the laser burns through paper, cardboard, tape and various other materials. Styropyro says he "usually [tries] to refrain from using the term 'lightsaber' when referring to [his] lasers but there really isn't much else out there to describe this laser."

Maybe one day a real lightsaber will come along, but in the meantime take a look as this laser burns through various objects.
