House of Cards
“House of Cards” is really moving forward without Kevin Spacey, since two episodes that were already filmed including the actor will now be junked. Netflix

The Netflix political drama “House of Cards” got into a lot of trouble after its lead star, Kevin Spacey, was accused of sexual harassment by several individuals, including the show’s crew members.

The show was already preparing for its sixth season by the time the scandal broke out, and reports have it that two episodes featuring Spacey was already filmed.

Because of Spacey’s personal drama, NME reported that those two new episodes will simply be junked, and the show will proceed with its production early next year. There will only be eight episodes in Season 6, and the spotlight will now be on Robin Wright as Claire Underwood. It remains to be seen whether Spacey’s character, Frank, would even be mentioned at all next season.

Showrunners Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese really have their work cut out for them after Spacey’s allegations forced them to re-write their eight-month plan for the show. According to CNN, they are “racing against the clock” to rewrite Season 6 without its biggest star.

In the British version of “House of Cards,” Francis Urquhart (Ian Richardson), who is the inspiration for Frank, was shot and killed in the final installment. Maybe Gibson and Pugliese will write Frank off the same way, or maybe he will be killed by his own wife Claire.

Spacey’s woes began after he was accused by actor Anthony Rapp, 46, of sexual misconduct dating back to 1986. Rapp, who was 14 then while Spacey was 26, claimed that Spacey harassed him at a party when he was carried “up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold.”

“But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me,” Rapp told Buzz Feed.

In response, Spacey said he was “beyond horrified” by the story since he could not even remember the encounter. He apologized to Rapp and later confessed that he was gay. “I have loved and had romantic relationships with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man,” he said.
