House of Cards
Many fans are accusing Anthony Rapp for toppling down the Netflix series “House of Cards.” Netflix

It took a lot of bravery for “Star Trek” actor Anthony Rapp to share with the rest of the world the sexual harassment story he endured at the hands of “House of Cards” star Kevin Spacey.

He told Buzzfeed last October that Spacey harassed him in 1986 when he was only 14 years old. They were at a party when the 26-year-old actor picked him up, placed him on the bed, and began making a sexual advance.

After Rapp’s confession, at least 24 more men have come forward with their own sexual allegations against Spacey. Because of it, Netflix and Media Rights Capital (MRC) decided to cancel “House of Cards.” Production for Season 6 has even been put on health.

Many raved about Rapp’s decision to come clean about Spacey, but the actor revealed on Twitter that he received a lot of hate as well - particularly from “House of Cards” fans. “Here are some comments on Instagram,” Rapp tweeted. “I’ve decided I want to share some of them because people need to be outed for their harassment.”

“House of Cards” showrunners Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese are now scrambling to create a new storyline for the sixth and final season, since the show has to move forward without its lead character, Frank Underwood (Spacey).

According to CNN, the future of the show remains “up in the air,” and the showrunners are “racing against the clock” to rewrite Season 6 without its biggest star. They are forced to scrap their eight-month plan in light of his scandals.

But all hope is not lost, because the showrunners can shift the attention to Frank’s wife, Claire (Robin Wright). Variety even reported that MRC is currently working on multiple ideas for a potential “House of Cards” spinoff.

They are currently in the early stages of development, and so far, ideas have started forming around Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly), the political aide-de-camp of Frank Underwood (Spacey). Eric Roth, who served as an executive producer for the first four seasons of “House of Cards,” is set to write the script.
