HTC Rezound was released Nov. 14 and is available at Verizon Wireless. It is the first smartphone in the U.S. with Beats Audio integration and sports some impressive features.

The smartphone is equipped with a 1.5GHz, dual-core Qualcomm MDM9600 processor with 1GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, 4G LTE, and a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 display and features lightweight Beats headphones, which are high-performance headphones brand-backed by Dr. Dre.

On the other hand, Apple received overwhelming positive responses for iPhone 4S, which was unveiled Oct. 4. The fifth generation of iPhone retains the exterior design of its predecessor, iPhone 4, but features some important upgrades compared to the previous model.

Perhaps, the most prominent features are Siri, a voice-recognition feature that allows users to control their phones by talking to them, cloud-sourced data and an improved 8-megapixel camera system. It also has a 3.5-inch TFT Retina multi-touch display and is loaded with the latest Apple operating system iOS 5.

Size: Rezound has dimensions of 129 x 65.5 x 13.7 mm and weighs 170.1 grams while iPhone 4S comes with 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3 mm and weighs 140 grams.

Operating System: Rezound runs on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and it would get an Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update in early 2012. iPhone 4S runs on the newest iOS 5 that comes with 200 new features that include an improved Notifications System, Newsstand and iMessage.

Display: Rezound sports 4.3-inch super LCD display with 720x1280 pixel resolution at 342 ppi pixel density. iPhone 4S has 3.5-inch TFT Retina multi-touch display that may give a resolution of 960 x 640 pixels at 326 ppi density.

Processor: Rezound is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 processor and Adreno 220 GPU. On the other hand, iPhone 4S, which comes in an A5 chipset, is powered by 1GHz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 CPU, PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU.

Camera: Both devices come with an 8-MP camera with auto-focus and both shoots high-definition videos at 1080 pixels. However, Rezound has a slight edge over iPhone in the camera department as it has a 2-megapixel camera on the front and a bigger f-stop of 2.2.

Connectivity: Rezound supports 4G LTE and Rev. A, up to 3.1 Mbps, HSDPA and HSUPA. Apple iPhone 4S has HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.8 Mbps support and also has CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz) technology.

Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/USB: Rezound supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot along with Bluetooth v.3.0 with A2DP and microUSB (MHL) v2.0. On the other hand, iPhone 4S has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi hotspot and has advanced Bluetooth version 4.0 with A2DP along with USB version 2.0.

Storage: Rezound comes with 16GB internal memory and 1GB RAM with expandable memory up to 32GB, while iPhone 4S has fixed 16/32/64 GB internal storage.

Battery: Rezound comes with 1620mAh battery that provides talktime of over 6 hours and standby time of 261 hours. iPhone 4S has a Li-Po 1420 mAh battery with 8 hours of talk time on 3G networks, up to 14 hours on 2G networks (GSM) and a standby time of 200 hours.

Pricing: With two year contract from Verizon, Rezound is available for $299.99. iPhone 4S costs $199 for the 16GB model, $299 for the 32GB model and $399 for the 64GB model.
