Huawei Technologies Co Ltd sued Motorola Inc, seeking to prevent Nokia Siemens Networks, which plans to buy Motorola's wireless network business, from getting hold of proprietary Huawei information.

Huawei and Motorola have had a cooperative relationship, in which Motorola resold Huawei's products to customers under the Motorola name.

Huawei said on Monday that it had not been given assurance that Motorola would not transfer proprietary information to Nokia Siemens Networks, leading it to file suit claiming a possible infringement of intellectual property rights.
