Lindsay Lohan has posed for Playboy, and Hugh Hefner likes what he has seen.

It's a classic tribute inspired by the original Tom Kelly nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe, a portion of which was the original playmate which was in the original issue of Playboy, Hefner told The Insider.

So did Lohan go completely nude for the spread?

Oh yes, Hefner told The Insider. And classy. Very classy.

It's not the first time Lohan has channeled a classic figure for a photo shoot. She drew inspiration from the late beauty icon Grace Kelly for the October 2010 issue of Vanity Fair magazine, wearing clothes inspired by the actress and princess' time.

Lindsay looked a little raw, wrote article author Nancy Jo Sales. And yet shining through her worry and stress and whatever else was currently affecting her mood was her all-American beauty, finer and more delicate in person than in pictures. She still looked like a movie star. She smelled of cigarettes and exotic perfume.

News of the Playboy photo shoot comes after Lohan checked in for a 30-day jail sentence for probation violation -- and then checked out only hours later due to a shortage of jail space in Los Angeles.

She was photographed last month at an event with discolored teeth. Her representative scoffed at the idea that the troubled actress was looking less than perfect and refused to comment.

Lindsay is widely acknowledged as one of the most stunning actresses of her day, and we get requests every week wanting to do photo shoots with her from top photographers, Steve Honig told People magazine. She's been on the cover of Vanity Fair, and the top beauty and fashion magazines. She's a beautiful and glamorous actress.

Other actresses and high-profile ladies who have graced the cover of Playboy this year include Dancing With the Stars professional Karina Smirnoff, fashion model Daisy Lowe, and Hefner's former fiancée, Crystal Harris.

Honig told USA Today's Lifeline Live blog that Lohan will appear on the magazine's January/Februrary cover.

The pictorial is absolutely fantastic and very tasteful, and will be accompanied by an interview that will let readers see another side of Lindsay, Honig told the blog.
