Since coming out as gay last week, ILoveMakonnen has been receiving plenty of support from his fans. On Monday night, the rapper decided to send his thanks to those that stayed in his corner following his reveal.

The “Tuesday” rapper shared a picture of himself on Instagram kneeling alongside a fireplace. “Thank you for supporting me when I didn’t support myself! Now I’m here to support u all! Always and forever! Love love love!” ILoveMakonnen wrote.

The “Swerve” artist went on to encourage fans to embrace who they are. “I can’t tell u about everyone else, I can only tell you about myself! Be brave be free young world of today and old world of tomorrow!” he wrote, ending his post.

However, despite the positivity he was embracing, the rapper posted a few tweets in the early hours of Tuesday morning calling out haters who tried to bring him down after he revealed his secret. “Please save that ignorance for your own conversations with the ones that conversate on that level. We over here with rainbow spray,” he wrote.

ILoveMakonnen encouraged those who are uninformed about certain situations not to treat others harshly. “Go learn about yourself first. Self awareness is caring. Treat others the way you wanted to be treated, yes true colors are being shown,” he tweeted.

The rapper revealed that he was gay via Twitter through a series of tweets. “As a fashion icon, I can’t tell u about everybody else’s closet, I can only tell u about mine, and it’s time I've come out,” wrote last week.

The artist then confirmed his sexuality with his follow up tweet. “And since y’all love breaking news, here’s some old news to break, I’m gay. And now I’ve told u about my life, maybe u can go life yours.”

Since the reveal, the rapper has received plenty of “real love and continued support.”
