Intel Corp, the world's largest computer chipmaker, filed an appeal to Europe's Court of First Instance on Wednesday against an antitrust finding and a 1.06 billion euro ($1.50 billion) fine imposed by European Union regulators.

We believe the European Commission misinterpreted some evidence and ignored other pieces of evidence, Intel spokesman Robert Manetta said.

The fine imposed by the EU executive in May was the largest imposed on a company. The Commission said Intel had tried to squeeze out arch-rival AMD with illegal rebates.
