#ActuallySheCan Mentorship Program
#ActuallySheCan Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin

Today, October 11, we celebrate International Day Of The Girl. This year's theme is “Girls’ Progress = Goals’ Progress: A Global Girl Data Movement." The motivation behind which is that unless there is real progress made in empowering girls from all corners of the world, we will be unable to achieve the global goals of tackling inequality, reversing climate change and ending poverty.

Female empowerment is the message also behind a campaign launching today. ActuallySheCan aims to start a movement and important dialogue around modern female empowerment, celebrating young women and their ambitions. Through the use of the dedicated hashtag #ActuallySheCan the program is dedicated to providing young women with empowering advice on careers, relationships, health, and more.

For today's launch, world-renowned fashion photography duo Inez and Vinoodh have created portraits of five, inspirational high-profile women alongside their female mentors or mentees — namely, Gabby Douglas and her sister; Gabourey Sidibe and Lisa Cortes (award winning producer of Precious), Chloe Grace Moretz and her mother; Iman and Bethann Hardison (fashion pioneer and activist), Amanda de Cadenet and her daughter Atlanta.
