iPhone 7 Leaks

New leaked images of what is thought to be Apple's new smartphone suggest at least one model of the iPhone 7 will have a dual camera lens arrangement while also seeming to confirm that the headphone jack will be done away with.

Last week, sources with knowledge of Apple's plans spoke to the Wall Street Journal saying the company will give its iPhone a minor refresh this year ahead of a more substantial design overhaul in 2017, and now leaked images published by the Nowhereelse.fr website appear to back up these claims.

Steve Hemmerstoffer, editor of the website, which has accurately published leaked images from Apple's supply chain before, says production of the new smartphone has already begun in China ahead of the expected launch in September.

The images show the casing for the new iPhone — which may or may not be called the iPhone 7 — and show a design similar to the iPhone 6s, but with the two horizontal antenna lines now incorporated into the edge of the smartphone, giving a cleaner look. The bottom of the phone shows no hole for a headphone cable and this has been replaced by another speaker.

The images also show a dual lens arrangement for the camera, though previous reports suggested this setup would only be for the larger Plus or Pro model. Other companies have already launched smartphones in 2016 with dual camera arrangements, including Huawei with its flagship P9 smartphone.
