The hit comedy series “Jane The Virgin” is poised to return next week with an explosive Christmas Special/Mid-season finale combo. “Chapter Thirty” airs next Monday, after a three-week hiatus. It appears that Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) will be struggling to plan a merry Christmas for their baby Mateo. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]

Despite the long break, Jane and Rafael have not cooled down following their falling out in the previous episode. In the Episode 8 trailer, the two of them could be seen bickering, as they wait for their turn to introduce Mateo to Santa at the local mall. [scroll down for video]

"Ho, ho, ho. Santa's got some pretty strict rules about mommies and daddies fighting at the North Pole," says Santa. Jane immediately snaps back and tells the man in the Santa costume to stay out of their fight. They then proceed to take a very glum looking photo with Santa.

Elsewhere in the episode, Jane will be struggling to make the payments for her grad school education. However, a very enthusiastic celebratory dance with her mother, Xiomara (Andrea Navedo) could be seen in the trailer. The Villanueva women clearly have something to celebrate.

Rogelio (Jaime Camil), Jane’s father, will be hiring a new assistant. Based on his experience with his back-stabbing former assistant, he will be having trouble trusting this new guy. His trust issues now extend beyond his romantic relationships, after he’s faced betrayal both from his ex-wife and his ex-colleagues.

The Villanueva family will likely celebrate Christmas together, and it remains to be seen if they will be having any unexpected guests.
