Jane the Virgin
Jane Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) and Adam Alvaro (Tyler Posey) are sure to make fans feel giddy in “Jane the Virgin Season 4. The CW

Just when you thought that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) are getting back together, Adam (Tyler Posey) came into the picture and confused Jane’s feelings all over again.

Executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman said Adam is going to be a huge part of Season 4, so fans should expect him to stick around in Jane’s life - whether or not her family and friends like it.

“It’s a pretty romantic love story I think!” Urman told Deadline. “But you can’t rule out Jane and Rafael and their connection. You’ll have to watch and see… I will say there are some pretty romantic moments this season.”

But whether or not these “romantic moments” will be shared with Rafael or Adam still remains to be seen. Things are actually about to get more complicated between Jane and Rafael since he lost the Marbella, and without his steady income, it’s going to affect their son Mateo too.

“Jane has become used to the privilege that Rafael’s money provided; she got used to the cushion — especially with regards to child-rearing. And she is surprised by how used to it she’s become,” she explained. “Mateo was going to private school; now he’ll be in public. He has various behavioral issues that Jane and Rafael tackled with money (and an aide) and now, without that, Mateo certainly struggles. Rafael does ultimately get a job (and a surprising one at that), but not before making every effort to get his fortune back from his sister.”

As for Adam, everything’s going to be rosy in his rekindled relationship with Jane, save for her family’s interference. Because of Adam, Jane is going to let loose and have some fun - and a lot of people won’t like it.

“He has a more youthful energy, he’s a less planned person. He’s at a different point in his career. He has roommates, he’s living a much more 20-something life, whereas Jane, after she was accidentally inseminated, had to grow up quickly and make real life decisions very quickly. Part of his energy is reminding Jane she’s only 28 years old and she still has a lot of youth let in her,” Urman told Variety.

“Jane the Virgin” Season 4 airs every Friday on The CW at 9 p.m. EDT.
