Most of the late-night world is on vacation this week and thus we don't get to enjoy an endless barrage of Casey Anthony jokes.

The only exception seems to be NBC Late Night host Jay Leno, whose attempts at creating comedy from the Anthony trial was met with deafening and humiliating silence. Leno, the veteran and controversial satirist who ousted Conan O'Brien from the late night chair only one year after he 'retired' from it, started off his montage with a joke about Anthony.

It was so hot today, people were as delirious and incoherent as a Florida jury... This [verdict] means President Obama's economic team is only the second most clueless group of people in America.

The next sound he heard mine as well have been crickets because the audience either a) didn't find it funny b) appropriate or c) didn't get it. Likely, it was one of the first two.

As most people know by know, Anthony, a 25-year-old Florida woman, was acquitted of murder charges that alleged she killed her daughter. Similar to the O.J. Simpson trial, many still believe Anthony was guilty.

Take a look at the joke below.
