Jenelle Evans’ custody battle is not going as planned. The “Teen Mom 2” star was originally scheduled to go up against her mother Barbara in court Wednesday in an effort to secure full custody of her son Jace, but their day in court has now been pushed back. The announcement of the delay occurred the same day Jenelle’s fiancé’s was arrested for criminal domestic violence charges.

A North Carolina court postponed Jenelle’s custody hearing until April, Radar Online reports. According to Us Weekly, Jenelle, 23, “skipped” the court date in order to attend a couple therapy session with her fiancé Nathan Griffith. Whether or not Jenelle was a no-show, one thing is certain, her attempt to win back Jace, 5, will not be easily won. Not only has Barbara always primarily cared for Jace, she has also been rumored to be planning to fight back.

When Jenelle finally does get her day in court, sources told Radar Online she plans to win custody by proving her home life with Nathan is stable. “She needs to show the court that she and Nathan have a solid relationship and that their home would be a safe and comforting place for Jace to live," said an insider.

Let’s hope for Jenelle’s sake she has another argument lined up. On Wednesday, Nathan, 27, was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on criminal domestic violence charges, Us Weekly reports. The Horry County Police Department arrest report — released Thursday — stated that Jenelle accused Nathan of pinning her “against a toilet” and “forcibly” removing her engagement ring from her ring after an argument. Following the alleged brawl, Jenelle said she was left with an injury on her pinky finger.

Nathan told officers a different story, claiming that Jenelle took off the engagement ring and that he never touched her. The Horry County site has Nathan listed as incarcerated. His bail has not been set.

Jenelle has also had her fair share of legal trouble in recent days. On Feb. 24, she was arrested in Myrtle Beach for driving without a license. A source told Radar Online that she had been pulled over for speeding only for law enforcement to discover that her license had been suspended, earning her a one-way ticket to jail. After paying a small fee, she was soon after released with the help of her lawyer. She is scheduled to appear in court Monday. March 23.

Jenelle and Nathan have a eight-month-old son together named Kaiser. The couple announced their engagement in January.

The “Teen Mom 2” cast is currently in the midst of filming Season 6. The original “Teen Mom” series will return to MTV with Season 5 March 23.
