While hoards of actresses in Hollywood would kill to own the coveted gold statue given to Academy Award Winners, actress Jennifer Lawrence did the unthinkable with her Oscar: She gave it away.

The 22-year-old star of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” revealed during her appearance Saturday at Comic-Con 2013 International: San Diego that her award for Best Actress for the drama “Silver Linings Playbook” earlier this year made her uncomfortable. “If anybody’s coming over to my house, I didn’t want them to remember that. Just kind of puts a weird energy out,” Lawrence told Access Hollywood.

The actress said she had originally tried displaying her trophy in inconspicuous places in her home, such as her bathroom, before caving in and giving it to her parents, Karen and Gary Lawrence, for safekeeping. “My parents took it back to Kentucky, [because] I felt odd having it, like, on display in my house,” said Lawrence. “My mom was like, ‘I’m taking it. It shouldn’t be here.’ And now it’s on a piano in Kentucky.”

While her Oscar win has become a source of discomfort for the starlet, who attended Comic-Con to reveal the theatrical trailer for the second installment of “The Hunger Games,” she said she feels blessed to work on successful films like the post-apocalyptic series. “As many things change, as many things are horrible and scary, it’s worth it if you love the movie,” she said.

While Lawrence is busy promoting the next “Hunger Games” film, the actress is also engrossed in her love life, Us Weekly reported Thursday. According to the report, Lawrence has officially reconnected with her former boyfriend, actor Nicholas Hoult, 23, and they are both currently on location in Canada. The twosome, who dated for two years before splitting in January, allegedly recently reconnected on the set of the film “X-Men: Days of Future Past" in which they both star.

“They started the shoot in April as friends,” a source said. “Then one day, they just started kissing. One thing led to another, and they hooked up. All her old feelings came rushing back. Now they're fully back on.” The couple has yet to confirm their rumored relationship, but they did appear smiling and standing side-by-side at Comic Con during a press conference for the upcoming sci-fi film.
