"Jersey Shore" cast members pose at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles

The fourth season of MTV's "Jersey Shore," in which the cast finds itself in Italy, premieres at 10 p.m. eastern time Thursday.

Ronnie, The Situation, Pauly D, Vinny, Deena, Sammi, JWoww and Snookie are all back, exploring their roots in the country of their ancestors.

The crew travels to Rome and Florence, among other historic locales, sampling both the day and nighttime culture.

"I'm going back to the Motherland," Mike "The Situation" DelVecchio shouts in the trailer for the latest season.

Viewers won't know how things go until the episode airs, but it looks like Vinnie takes Italy the most seriously of the amici.

"There's a lot of things I want to accomplish in Italy. I want to learn Italian. I want to master the language. I want to find a nice, real, traditional Italian girl," he says in the video below.

Sammi Sweetheart doesn't appear to have much of a role. Do you care?

Somehow, this season looks more ridiculous than any other, complete with Jersey Shore stables like fights, fist pumping and smooshing, as well as a car accident and tantissimo cultural-cluelessness.
