Jesse Metcalfe is finally engaged to his longtime girlfriend Cara Santana!

The 37-year-old actor — best known for his role as Christopher Ewing in the TNT continuation of “Dallas” — proposed to Santana during a getaway to celebrate her 32nd birthday this weekend.

According to Us Weekly, Metcalfe popped the big question to his soon-to-be wife with a 5.5-carat emerald-shaped diamond ring while aboard a 50-foot sailboat in the middle of the Hudson River in New York. Aside from planning the surprise proposal himself, Metcalfe also personally designed Santana’s engagement ring. See a photo of her engagement ring here.

Like Mecalfe, Santana is also an actor. She has appeared on several TV series, including WGN America’s “Salem,” TNT’s “Major Crimes” and CBS’ “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” among many others.

When she’s not acting, Santana is spending her time creating interesting content for her fashion and lifestyle blog Caradisclothed.

“I’m an LA-based actress with a deep love for all things fashion and fabulous,” reads the About Me page of her blog. “I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas and moved to Los Angeles when I was 15 years to pursue my first love and passion, acting. Along the way, I had an affair with fashion and haven’t been able to shake it. Traveling, and the discoveries that resulted from those trips, were what first drew me to blogging. Since then, I’ve grown to share my style must haves, fabulous friends, and all of the other beautiful things that I am grateful to be surrounded by.”

Santana also co-founded the Glam App — a virtual platform that allows stylists to act as freelance artists and make their own hours, build their clientele and manage their schedules and appointments.

“I really wanted to find a way to access the freelance hair, makeup and nail industry and create a platform for them to be able to continue to build their brand, build their clientele and expand on what they’re already doing,” Santana told People last July of what inspired her to start the project with her longtime friend and hair and beauty artist Joey Maalouf.

The Glam App currently operates in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Orange Country, Phoenix, Dallas, Chicago and Miami. They’re hoping expand to London next year.

Metcalfe has been in a relationship with Santana for more than 10 years. He, however, admitted to Your Tango in 2013 that his connection to Santana didn’t come instantly.

“I wouldn't say it was love at first sight,” Metcalfe said of meeting Santana years ago. “It was more of a slow burn, which I think is a better start for a relationship. I think if it comes on fast and furious, it generally fizzles out just as fast. We were slow and steady.”

“We took the time to get to know each other,” Santana added at the time. “We’ve known each other for, like, 10 years.”

Congratulations to the couple!
