Simpson reveals her pregnancy on Twitter, after a month of speculation. Twitter

Jessica Simpson has announced that she is pregnant with her second child.

The singer-turned-fashion entrepreneur tweeted out holiday wishes Tuesday: a photo of her seven-month-old daughter Maxwell, sitting on a beach with "Big Sis" written in the sand, with a caption that read, "Merry Christmas from my family to yours!"

Little Maxwell wore a red-and-white striped onesie, a red bow in her hair and a set of beads as she smiled for the camera.

Until now Simpson had been publicly quiet about her new pregnancy.

Speculation began last month when Us Weekly first reported about the pregnancy. Sources told the magazine that Simpson, who recently lost 60 pounds following her previous pregnancy, was not expecting to be expecting again any time soon.

“It definitely wasn't planned. But yes, Jessica is pregnant again,” the source told Us. “She really is overjoyed!”

During Thanksgiving, Simpson posted a holiday card to her official website and Twitter page that may have alluded to the new bundle of joy.

“I am so grateful for my new lil family! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!” she wrote.

Weeks later, Celebuzz reported that Simpson had announced to her friends and family that she is pregnant.

According to the source, “As Jessica and her [fiance] were about to leave the party somebody asked her, ‘How’s the baby?” To which she replied, 'Which one?! I’m pregnant again!'

"She was so happy, smiling and giggling,” the source added.

News sources have noted as of late that Simpson has been wearing looser clothes in public and hiding her stomach with large bags.

She also recently served as maid of honor for best friend and former personal assistant CaCee Cobb, as she wed actor Donald Faison. A photo of Simpson shows her walking down the aisle with a large bouquet of red roses fixed strategically at her stomach.

Simpson and former NFL player Eric Johnson have been engaged for two years. Their daughter, Maxwell, was born May 1 at nine pounds, 13 ounces.
