Jon Erik Meyer, Naked Man Walking 600 Miles From Georgia To Florida, Arrested On Disorderly Intoxication Charge [PHOTO]

A 22-year-old naked man who told authorities he was walking from Georgia to Miami while taking caught syrup was arrested about 150 miles from his destination on a charge of disorderly intoxication.

Jon Erik Meyer, 22, was seen naked on the sidewalk earlier this month of the central business district of Sebastian, Fla., according to an arrest affidavit obtained Friday by TCPalm. Meyer told authorities he was coming from Columbus, Ga., and was headed to Miami – a 600-mile trip that takes about 200 hours by foot, according to Google Maps.

A corporal with the Sebastian Police Department said she saw Meyer walking on U.S. 1 “and was completely naked” and that the 22-year-old appeared to be disoriented.

“While speaking to Jon he seemed very confused and did not know where he was,” the affidavit stated. “He stated that he had been walking from Columbus Georgia and was headed to Miami Florida. When asked where his clothes were he stated that he took them all off while he was walking on the sidewalk.”

Meyer allegedly told police he had taken a cough suppressant, and an officer detected “a slight odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from his persons.”

Meyer was taken Nov. 11 to the Indian River County Jail on a charge of disorderly intoxication.
