Actor Jonah Hill has deleted his tweets from his side of a Twitter feud with CNN anchor Don Lemon after the two men ran into each other at a hotel.

The feud between Hill and Lemon began when the CNN anchor told his nearly 160,000 followers that he bumped into the “21 Jump Street” star at a hotel.

“Said hi to @jonahhill in hotel. Think he thought i was bellman. Didn't know his name til bellman told me. A lesson to always be kind,” Lemon tweeted Thursday night.

A follower of Lemon’s wasn’t unsure what he meant, so the CNN anchor clarified in another tweet.

“He was a tool,” Lemon said, referring to Hill.

Hill then joined the fray and accused Lemon of mischaracterizing his behavior.

“@DonLemonCNN I said hi what do you want me to do move in with you? I was in a hurry. Didn't realize you were a 12 year old girl. Peace,” the actor wrote.

@JonahHill Hardly. You're not my type,” Lemon, who is openly gay, responded. ”But I know rude. And u were.

Twitter users who jumped in on the feud praised Lemon for standing up to Hill’s “rudeness.” Others urged the two men to make up.

That’s when Hill gave his version of the hotel encounter.

“@DonLemonCNN i walked out of the restroom and found you waiting for me," he wrote. "Shook hands, said hi and was on my way. Sorry if you found that rude."

Lemon suggested that Hill has let fame get to his head.

"@JonahHill Was waiting for luggage," he said. "Bellman & I laughed at how self-important u were. Just being honest. Be nice. Stardom is fleeting."

Hill has since deleted the tweets from his side of the Twitter war. It’s unclear if they agreed to drop the feud.

Twitter observers said they felt uncomfortable watching the fight play out.

“Watching @DonLemonCNN and @JonahHill fight over Twitter. Kind of awkward,” wrote Reuters columnist Anthony De Rosa, who had the last word of the exchange between Hill, Lemon and spectators watching the feud play out.

“Love seeing awkward Twitter convos in play,” wrote Ericka Andersen.

User David Brown called the Jonah Hill vs. Don Lemon feud “the oddest Twitter fight ever.”
