TOKYO - JPMorgan said on Wednesday that it has hired Jesper Koll, a former Merrill Lynch economist, to head its Japanese equity research division.

Koll will take up the post at JPMorgan Securities Japan Co on Dec. 1, the company said in a statement.

Koll was previously chief executive officer at Tantallon Research Japan, a Tokyo-based investment advisory firm that he set up in 2007. (Reporting by Junko Fujita)
