HBO Films announced Wednesday that four-time Oscar nominee, Julianne Moore will star as former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin in new film titled Game Change.

The TV flick is based on the bestselling book of the same name written by political journalists, John Heilemann and Mark Halperin.

The book is based on interviews with over 300 people involved in the 2008 campaign and discusses never-before heard internal issues like details about Democratic Party presidential candidate John Edwards's extramarital affair, the relationship between Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama and his vice presidential running mate Joe Biden and Sarah Palin's vice presidential candidacy.

The book received critical acclaim while many questioned the nature of explicit sourcing used in the book. The work also prompted debate over the dangers of using anonymous sources for inside information.

Directed by Jay Roach and written by Danny Strong, the movie follows John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, from his selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate to their ultimate defeat in the general election.

Although no other cast members are announced, speculations are rife on who will feature screen versions of the key players in the campaign such as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
