The People’s Choice Awards ended on a bit of an awkward note. Rainn Wilson of the upcoming Fox series “Backstrom” presented the final award for Favorite TV Show. Nominees included “The Big Bang Theory,” “Game of Thrones,” “NCIS,” “Once Upon a Time” and “The Walking Dead.” Each series features a dedicated fan base, but of course only one show can win -- and for the 41st People’s Choice Awards, the winner was “The Big Bang Theory.”

The entire cast was present to accept the award for Favorite TV Show, and Johnny Galecki, who plays Leonard, took the mic to thank fans. But first, Galecki had to help out his co-star and ex-girlfriend Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.

“Hey, just real quick, I want to take a brief moment because Kaley forgot during her speech to thank her husband,” Galecki told the crowd. “Ryan [Sweeting], you are my heart. And I can’t imagine what I’d be without you.”

Cuoco-Sweeting was good-natured about Galecki’s shout-out to her husband, patting him on the back and thanking him for his assistance.

Galecki and Cuoco-Sweeting secretly dated for three years while filming “The Big Bang Theory,” which is currently in its eighth season. Both Galecki and Cuoco-Sweeting have reportedly maintained a close friendship since their split, and the actress has since moved on with professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting, who she wed in 2013.

This was the fourth win in the Favorite TV Show category for “The Big Bang Theory,” and not the only award that the CBS comedy took home this evening. The series won Favorite Network TV Comedy, and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, who stars as Penny on the sitcom, also took home the award for Favorite Comedic TV Actress.
