Social media users could not deal with the possibility of seeing Kim Kardashian West as the first lady of the United States, after her husband, Kanye West, declared during the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) that he will run for president in 2020. West, who was awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, made the comments during his acceptance speech at the VMAs on Saturday.

“I don’t understand how they get five people who worked their entire lives … to stand on the red carpet get judged and still lose. I’m conflicted. F--- that bro. 2015, I will die for the art and what I believe in and the art may not always be polite,” West reportedly said, adding that he had smoked marijuana before delivering the speech. He concluded his address by saying: “In 2020 I decided to run for president.”

Following the speech, social media users ridiculed the thought of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star becoming America's first lady.
