Kate Middleton and Prince William call each other “darling.” This was revealed when the royal couple attended the preview of the Chelsea Flower Show Monday. The duo was there at the flower show for the first time with regular visitor like Prince Harry to see the Princess Charlotte chrysanthemum on display.

Visitors at the flower show who saw William, 33, and Kate, 34, at the engagement were surprised and thrilled to know that both had the same nicknames for each other. The couple like any other couple addressed each other as “darling.” The father-of-two was heard asking Kate if she could make her own poppy when they knelt to admire the 5,000 Poppies project, a stunning display of 300,000 knitted flowers laid out in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

“William asked Kate, ‘Could you make one of these, darling?’” said one of the designers Margaret Knight, talking to reporters. The couple, along with Harry, then went on to see the Support the Husqvarna Garden, which was shipped from Melbourne, Australia. Designer Mick Conway told how the pair addressed each other affectionately.

He said how William pointed to a Buxus and asked what it was, to which Kate replied: “Darling, we’ve got that.” The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge never indulge in PDA while on official engagements. The prince at best is seen sometimes placing a hand on Kate’s back, or hugging her closely at a celebration, which is not a thing for the royals.

Meanwhile, Kate is known to balance royal duties with motherhood. Just before leaving for the flower show, she was seen spending quality time bonding with her kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte. She showed her off-duty style in a blue long skirt, matching top, white jumper and glares, as she strolled with the kids.

Twitter was abuzz with pictures of the threesome on their outing in the gardens of Kensington Palace, nearby her apartment. The royal mom pushed little Charlotte in her pram with one hand, and held onto George with the other. They were accompanied by a protection officer, who walked behind, to let the mum enjoy some moments with her kids. According to onlookers, the friendly royal waved to passers-by as she strolled past.
