Kate Upton Likely to Cover Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition 2012 [PHOTOS]

The bodacious babe got famous off her amazing curves. Those curves could be photographed on the front of Sports Illustrated if the rumor mill is correct. The winner of the annual issue's top spot will be revealed on Monday on The Late Show with David Letterman. Many have been predicting the honor will be Upton's.

“All I can really say is that I’m in the issue,” Upton told The New York Post's Page Six. According to the column, Kate Upton's blonde, all-American good looks have placed her as a top contender.

Upton has been on fire lately. And we are not only talking about her looks. 

The bombshell was chosen to open New York Fashion Week 2012 on Wednesday in NYC's Lincoln Center with Super Bowl champion, Giants star Victor Cruz, who just signed with IMG. Upton was also named the Grand Marshal for the Daytona 500. She will also be featured in a Carl's Jr. commercial, which has starred other pin-ups like Kim Kardashian, Audriana Patridge and Paris Hilton. 

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover has brought models unprecedented fame; sometimes taking them from obscurity to A-list fame. Though Kate Upton's star already shines bright, landing the 2012 cover can change her life.

Others who have landed the cover include Irina Shyak, girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo, who covered the issue last year. Brooklyn Decker nabbed the coveted role in 2010. Victoria's Secret supermodels Bar Refaeli and Marisa Miller took 2009 and 2008, respectively.
