Kate Upton may have graced the cover of Sports Illustrated this year, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have to pay her dues still. Upton reportedly paid 25,000 to attend next weeks' Costume Institue Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

According to sources, Upton visited Vogue's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, at her offices four times to personally ask her if she could attend the gala.

She told Anna she would really like to attend, the New York Post reported. Then she offered to pay for her own ticket. Kate then whipped out her checkbook and paid the $25,000 dollars for her seat. Anna took the check on the spot.

Over 700 celebrities will attend the gala all approved by Wintour. Upton will wear Michael Kors to the event and sit at the designer's table.

The Costume Institute gala is one of the hottest events in town. There will be over 700 celebrities, athletes, editors and models there. Carey Mulligan will wear Prada and co-host the event and will be joined by Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Lopez, Victor Cruz and Dakota Fanning.

Monday's gala will honor Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli and kick off the Met's spring exhibition, Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations. The $25,000 ticket helps benefit the Costume Institutes's annual expenses.
