Kesha is finally making a comeback in the music scene this week with her highly anticipated single following her messy legal battle with record producer Dr. Luke. The controversial singer took to social media to announce the imminent release of her new song entitled “Praying.”

On Wednesday, Kesha updated her Instagram with a series of video clips showing her staring directly into the camera while breaking the news about her single to her fans. “Animals, I have a surprise for you,” she said in the first clip. In a follow-up, Kesha expressed how much the unwavering support of her fans helped her. “Your support and love and kindness has gotten me through, hands down, the hardest time in my entire life,” she said.

In her final video update, Kesha announced that “Praying” is set to drop this Thursday, and she credited her fans for making this new release possible. “My new song, ‘Praying,’ is coming out tomorrow, and I couldn’t have done this without you…” she explained.

Early this week, Kesha uploaded enigmatic collages on her Instagram, and all seem to be hinting at her fresh start in the music industry. One collage shows the singer’s silhouette as she stands in front of the ocean. Since the words “the beginning” appear in this one, Entertainment Tonight took this as a sign that Kesha’s comeback album could be entitled “The Beginning.”

“Praying” will be Kesha’s first single in nearly five years. Her career was unfortunately put on hold after she filed a lawsuit against Dr. Luke in 2014 for allegedly sexually assaulting and abusing her in the last 10 years prior the filing. Dr. Luke has denied Kesha’s claims, and the singer eventually gave up on the case.

The “Tik Tok” hitmaker has said in the past that she dropped the lawsuit to focus on relaunching her music career. However, Dr. Luke prevented her from releasing new music. Kesha has since fulfilled her contractual obligations to Dr. Luke’s label Kemosabe after submitting 28 new songs. She maintains that she will fight for the release of the songs this year, as per Daily Mail.

Back in January, Kesha hinted that she’s going a little country with her new album. “I’ve always loved country music and listened to it a lot growing up, so now I’m like kind of allowing myself to just tap into like my music roots a little more recently,” Kesha told ET Online at the time.
