Lamar Odom has been making positive statements about his ex Khloé Kardashian and confessing his past in recent interviews. The former NBA player has now revealed that his ex reached out to him after reading about an incident involving a stripper.

Odom has written a memoir titled “Darkness to Light,” and he has been promoting it these past few weeks. In the book, he talked about his drug addiction problem, his numerous affairs when he was with Kardashian, and his relationship troubles as a consequence of his behavior.

Kardashian has apparently read the book. In a recent interview with “The Jenny McCarthy Show,” Odom said that his ex sent him a text message about one of the stories in the book, Us Weekly reported. The incident involved the reality TV star catching her man with a stripper in a hotel room, and she apparently beat that woman.

Odom said that Kardashian didn’t think that he would even remember that story. Although her text message was about what may be an angry or sad moment from her past, the former NBA player said that the tone of the text was friendly.

When asked if there is an open line of communication between him and Kardashian, Odom said that he hoped that that is the case. The former NBA player was also asked if Kardashian is still the love of his life and he said “yeah” without hesitation, People reported.

In an interview with ET Online, Odom shared a special message for his ex-wife. “ I love you and thank you for being there for me when I couldn't walk or talk,” the former NBA player said. He admitted that he hasn’t been able to make amends with his ex-wife, but added that he has spoken to her recently.

Odom may be speaking to Kardashian occasionally, but he said that he doesn’t really have much of a relationship with the rest of the family, including his ex-wife’s mother Kris Jenner. He is, however, grateful for the support Kardashian gave him at a time when he needed it the most.
