Kim Kardashian Prison Orange: Why Is The Reality Star Behind Bars?

Orange is definitely the new black judging by new photos of Kim Kardashian in prison orange. So, why exactly is the reality starlet behind bars in a jumpsuit?

It has nothing to do with a fight with estranged husband Kris Humphries, a sex tape, Kris Jenner or Kanye West. In fact, Kim Kardashian is completely innocent and just guest starring in an upcoming episode of Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva."

Kardashian will drop the designer duds for the prison orange in an episode airing August 26, but the actress previously graced the "Drop Dead Diva" set earlier this season. According to MSNBC, Kardashian guest starred in several episodes as Nikki LePree. Unlike Kardashian, Nikki LePree is guilty. When LePree showed up earlier this summer she befriended Stacy (April Bowlby), planning to open up a pake shop (pie + cake) with her. Instead, LePree ended up stealing her life savings

In the August 26 episode it looks like the law has finally caught up Nikki LePree. Photos show a serious looking Kardashian behind bars in the prison orange jumpsuit. One thing not missing from the image? Kardashian's usual makeup.

"Her character goes head to head with Jane," explained show creator Josh Berman. "She's got a fantastic twist."

"We wrote her a three episode arc," Berman told the Hollywood Reporter. "But once she got on set and I was with her I got to see what her strengths were and we got to write to those."

Berman did just that, giving Kim Kardashian a funny line which parodies her life: "I wish I could make money out of being myself."
