The trailer for “Kung Fu Panda 3” has been released. It opens with kung fu master Shifu (voiced by Dustin Hoffman) training his pupils Po (Jack Black), Monkey (Jackie Chan), Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Viper (Lucy Liu), Mantis (Seth Rogen) and Crane (David Cross). A voiceover says, “a kung-fu master is prepared to train hard, moving fast, be brave and above all be ready for anything.”

Po is then shown facing his “greatest challenge yet” when he meets his biological father Li. Po can be seen coming face to face with his long-lost father, who tells him he is looking for his son, whom he lost many years ago. Po tell him that he lost his father. The trailer ends with Po and Li wishing each other luck in finding their loved ones.

“Kung Fu Panda 3” will see Po reuniting with Li, who will take him to the secret land of Pandas. Po will feel like an outsider among his own species and will freak out after meeting female panda Mei Mei, who has been promised to him in an arranged marriage.

Black said he is excited about the prospect of Po meeting new pandas. “There is great joy. Lo and behold, there’s a secret panda village. There’s intense rejoicing as I am reunited with my people. There are even cute baby pandas. Those guys are going to be the life of the party, for sure,” he told USA Today.

The film will also feature a supernatural villain, Kai, who will be shown stealing powers of the defeated kung fu masters. He will create his terror in the land of China and Po will train the fun-loving panda to become kung fu pandas so that they can battle against Kai.

Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni have directed the film from a story by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. Melissa Cobb is the producer and Hans Zimmer has supplied the music. The film will open Jan. 29, 2016
