Lady Gaga channels New York City

Last month, Lady Gaga partnered up with Target for an exclusive deluxe edition of her latest album Born This Way.

Target came under fire by LGBT advocates when it was revealed that they had donated corporate funds to MN Forward, a political action committee that supported anti-gay candidate Tom Emmer in his 2010 run for governor of Minnesota.

Lady Gaga is known as one of the biggest advocates for the LGBT communities.

That discussion was one of the most intense conversations I've ever had in a business meeting. Part of my deal with Target is that they have to start affiliating themselves with LGBT charity groups and begin to reform and make amends for the mistakes they've made in the past... our relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community and to redeem the mistakes they've made for supporting those [antigay] groups, Lady Gaga told Billboard magazine.

It seems like these amendments were not made the way Mother Monster would have liked. The Advocate is reporting that Lady Gaga detached herself from the Target partnership.

She and Target didn't see eye to eye on Target's policy of political donations and how they affect the LGBT community, a source told The Advocate.
