A court document, which was procured by the Associated Press (AP) on Thursday, suggests that Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom may have overdosed on cocaine and other drugs before he was found unconscious last week in the Love Ranch brothel in Las Vegas. Khloé Kardashian’s husband is being treated at the Cedars-Sinai medical center in Los Angeles and is in “fragile mental state" after two surgeries.

The court document includes a testimony from Michael Eisenloffel, a Nye County sheriff's detective, to Fifth Judicial District Judge Robert Lane on Oct. 13. "I believe that Mr. Odom may be — or may have been — under the influence of a controlled substance," Eisenloffel reportedly told Lane.

The AP report also said, citing a transcript of a detective’s request for a search warrant, that Odom was seen -- by witnesses and in security camera footage -- taking out an unidentified pill from an unmarked plastic bag from his pocket. Two sex-workers also reportedly told the police that they had "vague knowledge" about Odom using illegal drugs and that he snorted cocaine in a bathroom while they were in the adjacent room.

The police were given permission to procure a blood sample from Odom after he was initially taken to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, but the test results are pending. The AP report added that the authorities have not yet ruled out the possibility of taking action against the brothel or Odom.

JaNean Mercer, Odom’s aunt, said in a statement Thursday, according to E! News, that his health is slowly improving. "To our overwhelming delight, Lamar's courageous improvement continues on the incline in Los Angeles. He is beginning to gradually flourish both mentally and physically," Mercer said, adding: "His use of speech has increased and he's more cognitively responsive. His medical team has executed an aggressive therapy regimen to aid in his progress."

A report by Hollywood Life on Thursday said that Odom is under emotional stress due to the drug accusations against him and is “taking things very hard.” A source close to Odom told Hollywood Life: "Lamar is beyond embarrassed for what he did.

"People look up to him as a role model and he feels he embarrassed his name and family along with the Kardashian family," the source added.

The source also said that Odom is looking to “turn a new leaf” and “with the help of Khloé, he looks to make that all a reality!”

A court had dismissed Kardashian and Odom’s divorce application earlier this week after a request from the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star. Kardashian has also reportedly ended her relationship with Houston Rockets guard James Harden to focus on Odom.
