Lauren Conrad is a chameleon when it comes to fashion and beauty. Although she tends to stick to classic staples - like blazers, pumps and cat-eye makeup - she is constantly trying out new trends for an updated look. Her most recent whim? Hot pink hair.

Lauren Conrad showed off a ponytail dipped in hot pink dye when attending a book signing for her latest novel, The Fame Game, at The Grove in Los Angeles on Tuesady night.

The fashion mogul looked futuristic retro, with her multicolored bouncy ponytail, sharp eyeliner and a button down white blouse with metal spikes on the collar.

Prior to the signing, Conrad tweeted a photo of her hair to her 2.5 million followers, saying My Little (pink) Pony!

Rainbow-hued hair is all the rage these days.

The trend began over the summer, with celebrities like January Jones, Chloe Moretz, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry, Kate Bosworth, Avril Lavigne, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Carrie Underwood showing off vibrant locks.

Do you want to try Lauren Conrad's dip-dye hot pink look on your own hair?

Manic Panic is one of the most popular go-to products for rainbow colors. The brand offers ever shade under the sun, from lemon yellow to magenta to turquoise. It is a semi-permanent dye so it will wash out in just a few shampoos (just in case purple hair isn't your thing, after all).

Splat Hair Dye (rickysnyc.com, $12.99) is another option. This color kit comes with three colors - Cheery Pop, Kelly's Blue and Sweet Ruby. It also comes with hair color, bleach, peroxide, gloves and easy-to-follow instructions.

Dying your hair at home might seem like a bold move. Luckily, there are some skilled YouTube beauty gurus here to help. The YouTube channel audaciously features a simple tutorial on how to achieve dip-dye ombre hair.

If dying your hair seems like too serious a commitment, try some multicolored hair extensions. Select beauty salons offer this service; or you can head to your local beauty supply store and purchase up a pack.

Sultra's Cheetah Extensions (Sephora, $22) come in Pink, Cameo Pink, Cyprus Lilac, Ocean Teal and Rich Sable, all with a funky cheetah print. Sally Beauty sells Pink Hi-Lite Long Clip-In Synthetic Hair Extensions (sallybeauty.com, $4.49) that are quick to attach and easy to remove.
