It’s been quite a year for Leah Messer. The “Teen Mom 2” star divorced her second husband, Jeremy Calvert, and attended a treatment facility for undisclosed issues following a stream of drug use rumors. Now, reports are claiming the MTV reality star has also found herself in trouble with the law.

According to a report from In Touch Weekly, Leah, 23, was recently stopped by police after it was reported that she did not have proper car seats for her 5-year-old twins, Ali and Aleeah Simms. “Cops were called after someone at her girls’ school reported Leah to them, claiming she doesn’t put the kids in car seats,” a source told the magazine. Leah was reportedly stopped by authorities the following day at which time the kids were in their proper restraints.

The Ashley’s Reality Roundup, which previously reported that production had to shut down several times during Season 6 due to issues pertaining to the kids’ safety, backed up the magazine’s claims. According to a “very good production source,” Leah had allegedly not been putting her kids in their car seats leading up to her trip to rehab in May.

“MTV had to step in and stop filming several times because it was too unsafe to have the kids riding around the car unbuckled,” said the insider. “As far as I know [production] had to go purchase car seats for the kids.”

Leah is also being accused of failing to provide her special needs daughter, Ali, with her wheelchair. “Leah doesn’t even bring Ali’s wheelchair to school,” said one source. Ali, who suffers from an incurable form of muscular dystrophy, was reportedly unable to evacuate school grounds during a recent routine fire drill because she didn’t have the proper equipment on hand. “During a recent fire drill Ali was unable to get out quickly and had to be assisted,” added the source.

While Leah has yet to directly respond to the allegations, she hasn't stayed completely silent on social media. On Wednesday, the mom of three -- she also shares daughter Adalynn, 2, with Jeremy -- tweeted about her love for daughters children and her faith.

On the most recent episode of “Teen Mom 2,” Leah attempted to enter into treatment facility, only to have to return home for a last-minute custody hearing over her twins with her ex-husband Corey Simms. According to the promo for Thursday’s installment, she will officially enter into the facility in episode 10.
