At least two people have died, including the gunman, in a shooting Friday at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, Washington, police said in a press conference. Police confirmed the gunman died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Four people were injured and transported to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett. Three of the individuals are considered in critical condition. One has since been transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

A 911 phone call at around 10:30 a.m. on Friday from someone inside the school alerted authorities to a shooter. At 10:45 a.m. the school was placed on lockdown. Soon after, police and emergency vehicles arrived. Authorities conducted a sweep of the school’s buildings with guns drawn. Students and staff were found hiding in rooms throughout the school.

Shortly after 11 a.m. students were seen evacuating the school with hands in the air. They were transported to a meeting area at a nearby church.

Police Cmdr. Robert Lamoureux said authorities are confident that the shooter, whose name has not been released, acted alone. There are no details about a possible motive behind the attacks.
