An explosion outside the High Court in New Delhi injured at least 24 people on Wednesday, Indian media said, citing police sources.

Television images showed lawyers and judges running from one of the gates of the building. Police cordoned off the area, not far from parliament and the prime minister's office.

Police declined to comment on whether the blast was a bomb attack. Several ambulances and fire trucks were on their way to the court.

No further details were immediately available.

In May, a low-intensity blast outside the same court triggered panic but injured no one.
