Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) thinks that Rex Tyler (Patrick J. Adams) is killed by Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell).

In a sneak peek for Season 2, episode 3 of “Legends of Tomorrow,” Amaya — the original Vixen — slips into the Waverider just before the Legends leave 1942. Although alone, Amaya manages to take down Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) and Jax Jefferson (Franz Drameh) easily. But just before she could stab her true target, Mick, with a knife, Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) — who appears to have been transformed into a literal man of steel — knocks her out with just his bare hands.

At the end of last week’s episode, Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher), a.k.a. the Reverse Flash, broke into the JSA’s headquarters and erased Rex from the timeline. But just before Hourman took his last breath, he was able to give Amaya a clue regarding who killed him — a “time traveler.”

Since Amaya hasn’t met any time travelers except for the Legends, it makes sense that she thinks that one of them murdered Rex. “You have a clue to it in Rex’s final words to her,” executive Marc Guggenheim said (via Moviefone) when asked how Amaya will fit into the story moving forward. “If you’re Vixen and you’ve got Rex Tyler dying in your arms and you hear the words ‘time traveler,’ who would you think is responsible?”

In the same episode, after discovering his newly acquired powers, Nate — along with Ray — accidentally find themselves in Feudal Japan. According to the synopsis for the episode, Sara, Mick and Amaya — after the former assassin convinced the JSA member that Rory is not a murderer — all agree to find Nate and help him master his powers. Meanwhile, Jax and Dr. Stein stay back to repair the ship and discover a secret compartment.

“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2, episode 3 airs on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
