On Tuesday, Lenovo announced the all new Vibe K4 Note to replace the Lenovo K3 Note that came out last year in March. The K4 Note comes with upgraded features and affordable price tag.

The Lenovo Vibe K4 Note appears to be a premium device over the K3 Note as it comes with a metallic frame and customizable rear chassis. Here is a comparison between the Lenovo K4 Note and K3 Note on the basis of specifications, features, release date and price.

Display and Design

The Lenovo K3 Note sports a polycarbonate rear panel and measures 8 mm in thickness. The K4 Note is thicker at the center as it measures 9.15 mm. On its edges, the K4 Note measures only 3.8 mm.

The Lenovo K4 Note sports a completely black colored polycarbonate shell with a sturdy metallic frame on its sides. The front side of the K4 Note features dual stereo speakers. Both Lenovo K4 Note and K3 Note are phablet devices that are fitted with 5.5-inch full HD screen. The newer smartphone features Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The Lenovo K4 Note is fueled by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core chipset that is supported by 3 GB of RAM. On the other hand, the MediaTek MT6752 chipset and 2 GB of RAM is present under the hood of Lenovo K3 Note.

Both devices feature 16 GB of native storage. The K3 Note supports up to 32 GB of microSD, but the successor model carries support for up to 128 GB of microSD card.

The Lenovo K4 Note will be available in two variants, one featuring 3 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of storage and another 2 GB of RAM with multiple storage options like 8 GB, 16 GB, and 32 GB.

Camera and Software

A 13-megapixel f/2.2 aperture camera is present on the rear side of K4 Note. It is equipped with dual-tone dual LED flash and auto phase detection. The K3 Note features a 13-megapixel f/2.0 aperture camera with dual-LED flash.

Both smartphones come with 5-megapxiel selfie camera. The K3 Note arrived preloaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop whereas the K4 Note features Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. The Lollipop OS on both smartphones are overlaid with Vibe UI.

Connectivity and Additional Features

The Lenovo K4 Note comes with connectivity features like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n./ac, v4.0 Bluetooth, NFC, USB OTG, and aGPS. The K3 Note lacks NFC and features connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, v4.1 Bluetooth, USB OTG and aGPS.

The Lenovo K4 Note comes with newer features like fingerprint sensor and TheaterMax. The latter will let users to convert games, videos or any other multiple content into virtual reality to view on a large screen display, BGR reported.

Battery and Price

The Lenovo K3 Note comes with 3000 mAh battery whereas the newer model is equipped with 3300 mAh battery. The K4 Note will be available with a price tag of 11,900 rupees ($187). The older smartphone is available for 9,999 rupees ($149).

The Chinese manufacturer will be selling Lenovo K4 Note + ANTVR bundle that will include the smartphone along with a virtual reality headset for a price tag of 12,499 rupees ($187). The VR headset separately costs 1,299 rupees ($19).
