'LoMoing' in the line of duty

Many people are well aware of Tebowing -- the Internet craze of taking photos of people in Tim Tebow's well-known kneeling celebration.

The next photo-meme is apparently on the way - LoMoing, thanks to Miami Marlins outfielder Logan Morrison.

Check out Morrison LoMoing, here.

Just as Tebowing, is a reflection of Tebow's spiritual nature, the reclined and, dare we say it, sexy LoMo, is a reflection of Morrison's personality - a larger than life, ladies' man persona that has made him one of the most popular MLB Tweeters @LoMoMarlins.

On his Twitter page, Morrison describes himself thusly, To know me is to Tweet with me! Miami Marlins LF. Twittaholic. All around good guy (with just a pinch of dangerous sexuality)!

In honor of his creation, and in an effort to add to his nearly 90,000 followers, the Marlins' outfielder launched a LoMoing, contest on his Twitter account.

He has asked his followers to tweet photos of themselves LoMoing, in creative places or with some sort of unique element. In his posting to fans he said, Contest time! Now until 1/31 send me ur LoMoing pics. Prizes & RT's 4 best submissions. Stay legal. B creative. Have fun!

His fans took him at his word and they are all having so much fun that he has extended the contest until February 18,the day pitchers and catchers report to spring training through Major League Baseball.

Morrison retweets his favorites and sometimes offers Marlins tickets or other prizes to his fans for the best submissions. See the photos accompanying this story for some of the best submissions.

The extension gives current fans or anyone else who wants to get in on the action a chance to take their shot at LoMoing, for a few more weeks.

Given the problems he and Marlins management had last season over his Twitter feed and behavior in general, (including a demotion to AAA late in the season) he probably won't be having quite as much fun on Twitter once the season gets going, so get your photos submitted now.
