It’s time to get dressed up and ring in the new year. From fancy firework displays to music venues with low cover charges, there is plenty to do in Los Angeles to celebrate. Here’s a look at five events to ring in the new year from free and family-friendly to leave your kids at home. Happy 2016!

Grand Park + The Music Center's N.Y.E.L.A.

When: 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Where: 200 N Grand Ave, Los Angeles

Cost: Free

The third annual Grand Park and Music Center New Year’s Eve bash features music, art projections, dance, food and a countdown to 2016. This is LA’s largest, family-friendly New Year’s Eve party that takes place across downtown at the Music Center Plaza all the way to City Hall. Knott’s Berry Farm New Years Eve

When: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

Where: 8039 Beach Blvd, Buena Park, CA

Cost: Prices vary

Queen Mary New Year’s Eve

When: From 8:00 p.m.

Where: 1126 Queens Hwy.

Cost: Tickets start at $99

Ring in the new year from the deck of a boat while watching a fireworks display. The Queen Mary won’t be sailing, but there will be plenty to do onboard with musical performances, dining and bar options.

Prohibition New Year’s Eve

When: Doors open at 9 p.m.

Where: Union Station, 800 N Alameda St.

Cost: Tickets start at $125

Don some formal attire – think flapper dresses, tuxedos, feathers and beads – and travel back to the roaring 1920s at Union Station in downtown LA. This celebration features DJs, live jazz music as well as burlesque dancers to really transport you back in time. Have an oyster and a glass of Champagne to ring in 2016.

Rapture New Year’s Eve

When: Doors open at 8:30 p.m. Show starts at 9:00 p.m.

Where: The Satellite, 1717 Silver Lake Blvd.

Cost: $15 at the door

Dance your way into 2016 with music from the 1980s and 1990s. Jam with Prince, the Spice Girls, Madonna, David Bowie and others as you ring in the new year. Get a free glass of Champagne if you arrive before 10 p.m.
