Good news coming from sunny LA/ and you're the first I want to tell/ Katie & I just got engaged/ and I hope you wish us well, the 70-year-old said in his announcement.
He also posted a picture of McNeil along with a tweet that said, I'd like you to meet Katie. I'm lovestruck. I took this photo in London last month.

This will be Diamond's third marriage. The pop music icon married his high school sweetheart, Jayne Posner, in 1963. The couple had two children together and divorced in 1969. He went on to marry production assistant Marcia Murphey. After 26 years of marriage, Murphey and Diamond split in 1995. They also had two children.

Diamond's hits include Sweet Caroline, America, and Song Sung Blue among many others. He also starred in a 1980 remake of the Al Jolson classic, The Jazz Singer, opposite Laurence Olivier and Lucie Arnaz.
