19-years-old leader of the hacker group LulzSec has been arrested in Essex, England in a cooperative effort between FBI and Scotland Yard.

A spokesman on behalf of the Scotland Yard said: The arrest follows an investigation into network intrusions and distributed denial of service attacks against a number of international business and intelligence agencies by what is believed to be the same hacking group. Searches at a residential address in Wickford, Essex, following the arrest last night have led to the examination of a significant amount of material. These forensic examinations remain ongoing.

LulzSec had announced Operation Anti-Security and had promised an information leak from government agencies and other corporations.

With the new development it remains unclear whether the group will continue with their activities or will disappear from the scene. Since they have already gained support of other individual and group hackers including WikiLeaks and Anonymous, it is highly unlikely that they might discontinue their operations.
