A man who claimed he was singer Nicki Minaj’s agent lured a 12-year-old girl to his car in New York City and sexually assaulted her, according to the NYPD.

Police were still searching for the suspect Wednesday. He was described as a 6-foot-tall black man in his 20s with a scruffy beard, black hair and brown eyes, the NYPD told Metro.

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon in the South Ozone Park section of Queens, not far from where Minaj grew up in the borough’s Jamaica neighborhood. The man pulled up to three girls and claimed he was Minaj’s agent and was looking for models, NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly told Metro.

The suspect then took pictures of the girls and asked them to get in his car. Only the 12-year-old agreed, and the man drove a short distance before exposing his genitals and sexually assaulting the girl, the paper reported.

The 12-year-old was able to escape and ran to a friend’s house, where she dialed 911.

Kelly wouldn’t definitively say whether the suspect was in fact Minaj’s agent, but he said name-dropping a successful star such as Minaj to commit wrongdoing is not an uncommon occurrence.

“She’s a fairly well-known person,” the commissioner said, according to Metro. “It wouldn’t be unusual for someone to just use that name.”
