Sir Alex Ferguson says Manchester United will look to add a few players in the summer Reuters

If rumors are to be believed, English Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have prepared a hefty summer shopping list that will see the club spending big for bringing in desired players when the transfer window opens at the end of the current season.

The shopping list is believed to have been created by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson before the team faced local and title rivals Manchester City in the probable title decider at the Etihad Stadium. Now, after United's shocking 1-0 defeat to their local rivals that jeopardizes their title ambitions this season, it is expected that the boss will remain active throughout the transfer season.

The Red Devils have chalked out a shopping list which is supposedly worth around the $81.31 million (£50 million). Such a huge amount can only mean that the boss is planning a complete revamp of the side going into the next season.

Among the others on the list, Fergie has actually stressed upon midfield players such as Tottenham's Croatian international Luka Modric, Iker Muniain of Spanish La Liga side Athletic Bilbao and Iceland international Gylfi Sigurdsson of French Ligue 1 side Lille who is currently serving at Swansea City on loan. The boss is also looking for a new center-half and fullback.

United, according to a Tribal Football report, have been linked with Crystal Palace's Nathaniel Clyne and some also believe that the Red Devils will surely make a hopeful bid for Welshman Gareth Bale.
