Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao, who is set to fight Timothy Bradley on June 9, reportedly vehemently disagrees with President Barack Obama's recent support of same-sex marriage.

God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other, Pacquiao told the National Conservative Examiner.

If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Pacquiao made the comments in response to President Obama's much-covered ABC News interview in which he said he personally supports gay marriage rights, but believes it should be left up to the state.

At a certain point I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same-sex couples should be able to get married, Obama told ABC News' Robin Roberts.

Pacquiao, a Roman Catholic, had battled temptations with nightclubs and women in the past, according to his trainer Freddie Roach, but has recently recommitted himself to his faith and boxing.

He's given away his cockfighting farm [in the Philippines], sold his casino and his nightclub, Roach told the Los Angeles Times. Now, he's back with his wife, reading the Bible every day, and he's given up basketball.

Pacquiao's wife had served him with divorce papers on the eve of his fight in November against Juan Manuel Marquez, but the couple is back together now.
