"Iron Man 3" will be released on May 3. Marvel Studios/Paramount Pictures

Marvel has released a quick preview of its “Phase Two” movies, focusing on “Iron Man 3.” The full feature also previews “Thor: The Dark World” while revealing concept art for “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” The preview also includes looks at “Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Ant Man” and some discussion of “The Avengers 2.”

There is a lot happening in the feature while the preview that Marvel uploaded to YouTube focuses on “Iron Man 3.” Kevin Feige, producer of all the previous Marvel movies including “The Avengers,” notes that, much as “Iron Man” started the buildup to “The Avengers,” the latest Tony Stark movie will pave the way for “The Avengers 2.”

“Iron Man 3” sees Robert Downey Jr. returning as the titular superhero after the events of “The Avengers.” Shane Black, who worked with Downey on “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” is directing the third installment of the series, which will see Iron Man face off against the Mandarin, played by Ben Kingsley. “Iron Man 3” will be the first “Phase Two” movie from Marvel and will hit theaters on May 3.

“Thor: The Dark World” will be the next movie from Marvel and will arrive in theaters on Nov. 8. Following those two movies, “Captain America: The Winter Solider” will arrive in 2014, as will “Guardians of the Galaxy,” a new movie about a superhero team starring Chris Pratt that will also feature a talking raccoon named Rocket Raccoon. All of these movies will lead into “The Avengers 2,” which will be directed by Joss Whedon.

SlashFilm collected the various screencaps and concept art found in Marvel’s full “Phase Two” feature, which is included in the “Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled” Blu-Ray box set. The full feature reveals new images from “Thor 2” and concept art and images from “Captain America 2” that give fans their first look at Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie, and the Winter Soldier, played by Sebastian Stan.

In addition to the art and other details about “Guardians of the Galaxy” from its director, James Gunn, some test footage of Edgar Wright’s (“Shaun of the Dead”) “Ant-Man” was shown in the five-minute feature.

Whedon also mentioned that “The Avengers 2” will be shot in the UK beginning in early 2014 at Shepperton Studios, the same studio that served as the filming location for “Thor: The Dark World,” while “Guardians of the Galaxy” will also shoot there, notes SlashFilm.
