KEY POINTS

  • The Mavericks are heavily favored to get back on the winning track against the Wizards
  • The Wizards will try out their altered rotation against the Mavericks
  • The Mavericks are looking to even their regular-season series with the Wizards

The Dallas Mavericks are heavily favored to return to their winning ways when they host the Washington Wizards at the American Airlines Center on Tuesday, January 24.

Aside from that, the Mavs are looking to even their regular-season series with the Wizards.

Washington won in their first meeting, 113-105, back in November.

Dallas is coming off a stinging loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, 98-112.

Luka Doncic led the team in that losing effort with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists.

Tim Hardaway Jr. backed up the Slovenian star with 22 points and eight caroms, while Spencer Dinwiddie added 21 markers.

The Mavericks were burned by the duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, who scored 30 points and 21 points respectively.

"I thought the second half we just came out a little flat," Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. "Give them credit; they were the better team."

The Mavericks are scoring 112.6 points per contest, 20th in the league. They also own an offensive rating of 115.1.

Defensively, they are limiting opponents to 112.2 points per game, with a defensive rating of 114.9.

On the other end, the Wizards are coming off two-straight victories against the Orlando Magic (138-118) and the New York Knicks (116-105).

Against the Magic, Rui Hachimura amassed 30 points and five rebounds. Kyle Kuzma added 25 markers, 10 boards, and six dimes.

Ironically, Hachimura is no longer with the team. He was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Kendrick Nunn and multiple future picks.

The newly-acquired Nunn has been listed as questionable against the Mavericks.

The Wizards are scoring 112.5 points per game and also carry an offensive rating of 112.5.

On the defense, the Wizards are surrendering 113.3 points per game.

As far as their defensive rating, Washington is 17th in the league with 113.4.

The Mavericks are -7 favorites to prevail over the Wizards, who are at +7.

The moneyline for this game is -288 for Dallas and +231 for Washington.

The game can be watched via the NBA League Pass and through fuboTV at 8:30 PM ET.
