Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have released a family holiday card ahead of their first American Christmas with son Archie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's first holiday card after settling down in their Montecito, California home was released Wednesday through Mayhew, Markle's animal welfare organization patronage in the U.K.

The card features an illustration of a picture taken by Markle's mom, Doria Ragland. It shows 19-month-old Archie, who has red hair, smiling and playing with his dad, mom and their two adorable dogs, Pula and Guy. Their backyard, which has Archie's special playhouse, can be seen in the background.

"Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year," the card said.

“We’re thrilled to receive wonderful Christmas wishes from our Patron, The Duchess of Sussex, who also made a personal donation, helping dogs, cats and our community. From all of us at Mayhew, thank you and Merry Christmas,” Mayhew wrote on its Twitter account.

“The original photo of the family was taken at their home earlier this month by The Duchess’s mother. The small Christmas tree, including the homemade ornaments and other decorations, were selected by Archie, and the tree will be replanted after the holidays,” a spokesperson for the Sussexes told People.

The card was met with mixed reactions on social media, with most supporters expressing approval for its authenticity and simplicity.

“Absolutely Unexpected Unique Perfect!! Yaaass! Excellent job by the artist!! The Sussexes did make their Christmas Card SPECIAL! Nobody does it like Harry and Meghan! I can see this hanging over their fireplace,” wrote one Twitter user.

“This is so brilliantly done... we see Archie yet don’t really see his face. Perfect and so unique. These two always come up with original ideas,” commented another user.

“Beautiful card and message. To the haters, please take your bah-humbug, grinch who stole Christmas bad attitudes someplace else. And, sorry to tell you but Meghan is still a Duchess no matter what you want to believe. Ha!” wrote a third netizen.

Some, however, were disappointed with Prince Harry and Markle's latest holiday card.

“Nothing Christmas about it!! Whatever happened to the TRUE meaning of CHRIST- Mas,” wrote one user.

“Can’t even provide a real photo shame on them,” wrote another.

In 2019, Markle and Harry spent the holiday season in Vancouver Island, Canada, and shared their Christmas card as a family of three for the first time.
